JMG Security Systems chosen by Anaheim Arena
ANAHEIM, CA - Selecting a single company to provide security systems for a project as visible and scrutinized as the Anaheim Arena took more than experience and decisiveness; it required research. Brad Mayne, Anaheim Arena general manager, would not award the contract until he checked out the references of the three security system company finalists. Wanting to know which company'' claims of service were best fulfilled, he went directly to their clients to find out for himself.

Mayne could not afford to leave anything to chance. When it comes to security, the liability for assumption are high, especially in the case of Anaheim Area, the 19,000 seat entertainment and sport facility which will be the largest of its kind in California.

Scheduled to open in the fall of 1993, the $103 million Arena will draw thousands of fans and house hundreds of employees, athletes and entertainers. Faced with their safety and the prospect of protecting the building and grounds both now and in the future, Mayne called upon his experience at three other Ogden Facility Management projects to develop his security requirements. Reliable vendor needed.

What he sought was a security system vendor who was reliable responsive and experienced to implement and enhance his plan. Nine companies initially responded and six of those submitted a proposal. What he found with JMG's proposal was a system that had state-of-the-art video, alarm and detection equipment which could be expanded or upgraded after installation if operation requirements or technological breakthroughs warranted such.

That he selected JMG Security Systems from among the final three was an endorsement of all that the Fountain Valley based company has achieved since its founding by Ken Jacobs and Mike Christensen in August 1987. They founded JMG as an alternative to the large nation alarm companies whose volume or philosophy precludes individual account service and awareness.

By contrast, JMG works to establish a real sense of customer security based on service. The approach is succeeding , as evidenced by the many testimonials Brad Mayne received from JMG's customers. Among them was the ringing endorsement of Jerry Shumard, Manager of Security/Parking at Knott's Berry Farm.

When the Knott's building security system went down from equipment failure last year, Shumard was anxious to get back on line. Unfortunately, the promised service wasn't forthcoming from his alarm company.

"We waited more than a week and then turned to JMG," Shumard confided. He was familiar with JMG because it had won a competitive review for the security of Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner restaurants in Irvine and Moreno Valley.

Shumard's frustration was relieved by JMG's quick installation of new security equipment. "Our system went down because of the malfunction of the former security company's equipment, and they were the only ones who could repair it, "Shumard lamented. "But the equipment JMG installed allows out technicians to handle any emergency work and, of course, there's JMG's crew to support us as well.

Unique in its service implementation strategy JMG maintains a system of checks and balances that is built around a frequent "call-back" program. This focus on providing the highest aspects of customer service is also augmented by technical support. Field support important.

During Ken Jacobs' 20 year career in the security industry, he recognized that a salesman's promise is only as good as the technical support he receives in the field. Dedicated to providing the promise as well as the performance, Jacobs and Mike Christensen keep current on technical developments by attending industry seminars and product introductions whenever they occur.

Mike Christensen brings uncommon technological competence to the ream. His experience gives JMG sales agents and their customers the assurance that the company is providing state-of-the-art electronic detection and protection system and that they are properly installed, maintained and in operating order at all times.

For example, JMG is an authorized Panasonic dealer, allowing it to offer factory direct prices on Panasonic's popular closed circuit television surveillance system. Its cameras are an important set of eyes that can do anything fromimproving customer service to deterrintg customer or employee theft.

As a dealer, JMG sales agents have been trined in the Panasonic technolofy so they can customixe the TV surveillance system according to individual client needs.

This technological proficiency also impressed Mayne when he was evaluating who should win the Anaheim Arena contractor. "I recognized that our plan of operation could change over the years and that we would need a security system that could accommodate change," Mayne recalled.

"The Anaheim Area will be state-of-the-art in every respect, from the high quality spectator amenities to the operational equipment for the touring attractions," Ken Jacobs, JMG president said. "We are very gratified to be chosen among the nation and regional companies who were competing for its security system contract."
